He married Mary Holmes in Providence, Ri., abt 1656. (Mary Holmes is #932.) Mary was born in Lancashire abt 1630. Mary was the daughter of Obadiah HolmesRev. and Katherine Hyde. Mary died abt 1690. Mary became the mother of Mary Brown in Providence, Rhode Island. Mary became the mother of Sarah Brown in Smithfield Ri., abt 1658. Mary became the mother of Obadiah Brown abt 1660. At 32 years of age Mary became the mother of Ensign john Brown in Providence, 03 18 1661/62. Mary became the mother of Martha Brown abt 1663. At 36 years of age Mary became the mother of James Brown in Providence, 1666. Mary became the mother of Deborah Brown abt 1668.

Rev. became the father of Mary Brown in Providence, Rhode Island. Rev. became the father of Sarah Brown in Smithfield Ri., abt 1658. Rev. became the father of Obadiah Brown abt 1660. At 33 years of age Rev. became the father of Ensign john Brown in Providence, 03 18 1661/62. Rev. became the father of Martha Brown abt 1663. At 37 years of age Rev. became the father of James Brown in Providence, 1666. Rev. became the father of Deborah Brown abt 1668.

Rev. John Brown and Mary Holmes had the following children:

4 i. Mary⁴ Brown (#2) was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She married Arthur Aylworth. (Arthur Aylworth is #1.) Arthur was born in Parish of Naunton, upon Cotswold, Gloucestershire, England 1656. Arthur died in Quitniseck Neck, Rhode Island. At 29 years of age Arthur became the father of Arthur Aylworth in North Kingston, 1685. At 36 years of age Arthur became the father of Philip Aylworth in North Kingston, 1692. (See Arthur Aylworth for the continuation of this line.)

5 ii. Sarah Brown (#945) was born in Smithfield Ri. abt 1658.

7 iv. Ensign john Brown (#946) was born in Providence 03 18 1661/62.

8 v. Martha Brown (#943) was born abt 1663.

9 vi. James Brown (#947) was born in Providence 1666.

10 vii. Deborah Brown (#944) was born abt 1668.
