3. Courtland Philip Livingston³ Butler (Samuel Herrick², Nathaniel¹) (#970) was born 1813. Courtland died 1891 at 78 years of age.

He married Elizabeth Slade Pierce. (Elizabeth Slade Pierce is #971.) Elizabeth was born 1822. Elizabeth died 1901 at 79 years of age. At 28 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Mary Elizabeth Butler 1850.

At 37 years of age Courtland became the father of Mary Elizabeth Butler 1850.

Courtland Philip Livingston Butler and Elizabeth Slade Pierce had the following child:

4 i. Mary Elizabeth⁴ Butler (#972) was born 1850. Mary died 1897 at 47 years of age. She married Robert Emmet Sheldon. (Robert Emmet Sheldon is #973.) Robert was born 1845. Robert died 1917 at 72 years of age. At 27 years of age Robert became the father of Flora Sheldon 1872. (See Robert Emmet Sheldon for the continuation of this line.)

At 22 years of age Mary became the mother of Flora Sheldon 1872.
